The Peace Innovation Initiative and QGEMS Announce Strategic Partnership to Advance Sustainable Energy Solutions for Peace

The Peace Innovation Initiative and QGEMS Announce Strategic Partnership to Advance Sustainable Energy Solutions for Peace

Peace Innovation Initiative and QGEMSAs our world faces pressing challenges related to climate change and environmental sustainability, the need for an innovative energy ecosystem has never been greater. Today, the Peace Innovation Initiative (PII) announces a groundbreaking partnership with QGEMS, an innovative global energy management company revolutionizing the sustainable energy market. This partnership brings together the expertise of both organizations to accelerate the delivery, implementation, and growth of sustainable energy solutions. PII and QGEMS are committed to driving positive change by promoting the adoption of sustainable energy practices and technologies worldwide.

As a 501c3 peace accelerator, PII works diligently to advance all 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while focusing on four primary goals: health and wellbeing (SDG 3), education (SDG 4), climate and energy (SDG 7), and data infrastructure and innovation (SDG 9). These four building blocks directly support construction of the DNA of Peace and form the foundation of their programs and events, including the focus areas for their flagship DNA of Peace Fellowship Program.

Barbara Winston, President and Founder of PII, speaks to the intersection of clean energy and peace: “The earth is our shared home. Peace is inextricably connected with climate and energy. By working with global thinkers and employing innovative technologies, we can operate in harmony with nature while addressing pressing global challenges.”

In 2023, PII’s first Health and Peace Fellows cohort was launched at the University for Peace Global Center of Peace Innovation, with an initial investment of $300,000 to support students with the technology, education, and network to launch pioneering innovations. Now, with the support of QGEMS and other partners, PII is expanding their Fellowship to include Clean Energy and Data Infrastructure cohorts. Fellows will focus on developing innovative solutions to transform the energy sector and global information environment, laying the groundwork for peace and sustainability initiatives worldwide.

The Internet of Energy will require improved planning, increased visibility, and deep analytics and is the only way to meet the doubling and trebling of energy needs globally. QGEMS AI is a critical method to drive intelligent and high speed automation and optimization at every level.

Intrinsic to QGEMS culture and business operations are UN SDG goals 7 through 13. Their focus is on eliminating energy poverty by accelerating and shepherding the intelligent growth of microgrids and sustainable energy sources in conjunction with existing energy grids. For underdeveloped areas, the QGEMS sustainable energy ecosystem will enable off-grid optimized deployments. This ensures that the highest possible amount of energy will reach all people and utilize the lowest possible amount of capital and ongoing maintenance.

“We’re excited to join forces with PII to drive imperative change in the energy sector,” says Gordon Winston, QGEMS CEO and PII Co-Founder. “Together, we will empower innovators to develop cutting-edge technologies that shape the future of clean energy and data infrastructure, creating a more sustainable and peaceful world for generations to come.”

As PII embarks on this new chapter of collaboration with QGEMS, they are actively seeking seed investment from family offices and corporate leaders to support the expansion of Fellowship programs and events. For inquiries regarding partnership opportunities, or to learn more about the DNA of Peace Fellowship Program, please contact PII Director of Programs and Research, Emily Evans, at emily@peaceinnovationinitiative.org.

About QGEMS

QGEMS is an Energy Management Orchestration System (EMOS) designed to create a modern energy ‘hypergrid.’ This innovative command and control system combines the current energy grid with rapidly expanding distributed energy resources and microgrid deployments. QGEMS manages the integration, aggregation, and orchestration of assets and energy throughout all levels of the grid including consumers, suppliers, and the entire supply chain. The QGEMS solution is hardware and software-agnostic and therefore is inherently futureproof. The transition and rebalancing of energy assets and systems will occur regardless of political outcomes, as the supply of clean energy investment and transition to alternative carbon-based sources are well underway. It’s crucial to have a centralized command and control system to orchestrate and fully manage this transition, at home in commercial and utility settings. For more information, visit qgems.energy
